Jim Owens has worked and taught in the video and television industry for over 30 years. He has worked on local, regional and national productions. Owens' international television work has included eleven Olympic broadcasts and has taken him to over twenty-five countries. He is the author of the Video Production Handbook, Television Production, and Television Sports Production (all published by Focal Press), and has had over thirty articles published in television and broadcast magazines in the United States and Europe. Owens is Dean of the School of Communication Arts at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he has taught since 1981.

Kindle version needs a lot of help

This has got to be the most buggy and messed up e-book I've ever paid too much for. Sections and side bars will repeat multiple times. In the middle there was an instance where the same page is repeated nearly a dozen times! There are scores of instances of this sort of thing. Someone could have bothered to proof this conversion before they started asking $35 for it! Very poorly done.

I STEPPED OUT OF MY BOX AND I LOVED IT!

I stumbled upon this book in an attempt to broaden my horizons and step out of the routine romance genre I usually read. I'm so glad I chose this book! It's a quick read jam packed full of adventure. I loved the relationship of Alex and the feisty, tenacious Hayley. The innocent flirty banter between the two made Alex seem so human, albeit he was a guardian angel. This is a totally different spin on the phrase 'soul mate' and different meaning to the accustomed term, guardian angel. I smiled as I got to know Alex. I had this picture of a John Travolta-esque character from the film Michael. Sexy, with a quirky sense of humor. The writer vividly described the battle and action scenes so well that I felt like I was there hiding behind a building watching. I love a book that makes me connect with the characters and feel what they are feeling. Of course, the nefarious Marli added lots of action to the story. The battle was epic. If you're looking for a fast paced page turner which centers on good an evil I highly suggest this book. I'm so glad I stepped out of my box and grabbed it! Terry Reid is an author you need to put on your TBR list. Thanks Terry for a totally enjoyable read that I won't forget!

So different!

Alex, a Guardian Angel watches over a girl called Hayley, but they are more than just room mates. They are soul mates. Their bond is portrayed beautifully as is their love for each other. Together they take on demons and fallen angels, until their world is turned up side down in an epic battle. Light angels face off with dark angels in a bid to keep Hayley save.
This book has it all and is so different from any angel vs. demon books out there. It's well written and the battle scenes are executed perfectly. The characters are realistic regardless of their celestial nature. Some events in the book however, was not realistic, but in the end this is a work of fiction and should be accepted as that. I highly recommend this book. Strap in for a gripping read!!!

We've all heard of having a "guardian angel," but Terry Reid takes this notion one step further by creating a world in which some people are actually cut from the souls of their protectors. Crashing Down to Earth centers around the age-old struggle between angels and demons taking place right here on earth. In this world, those who the guardians protect are actually a part of them, taken from their own souls, which creates an interesting paradigm and the central focus of the action. The story follows Alex, who is sworn to protect Hayley, but now faces an even greater challenge that threatens mankind. Interesting story line with well-developed characters, I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, fun read!

Jayakar, who was Indira Gandhi's friend for 30 years, draws on her notes of meetings and conversations for this empathetic biography of India's prime minister who was assassinated in 1984. Indulged yet also neglected as a child, Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) was prepared for leadership by her proud, expansive father, Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister. Jayakar, biographer of Krishnamurti, is especially revealing on Indira's unhappy marriage to Feroze Gandhi, on her key role in freeing East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) from West Pakistan's bloody rule and on her relationship with her sons Sanjay, killed in a plane crash in 1980, and Rajiv, assassinated in 1991. Noted Indian intellectual Jayakar knew Gandhi for over 30 years, and his numerous interviews, discussions, and interactions with her help shape this biography. One of the first women to govern a major country, Gandhi belonged to a family that has ruled India for most of its recent history; she herself was the daughter of a prime minister and was succeeded as prime minister by her son after her assassination in 1984. Significantly, Jayakar moves away from the earlier paeans of praise to a more critical assessment of Gandhi's contributions to the Indian polity. The 1975-77 Emergency and subsequent events are not treated with the same depth as the earlier period of Gandhi's career, but this will unquestionably become one of the standard biographies.
